Who runs this site.
European law requires an online service to make its operator easily, directly and permanently identifiable. This page is that record. Every other page on this site refers here instead of repeating it, so there is exactly one place where these details live and exactly one place to correct them.

Email is the operative channel and reaches the operator directly. There is no contact form, no call centre and no support queue, which is consistent with the rest of the site: nothing here collects anything from you. Messages in English or Lithuanian are answered.
What this service is, and is not
- translate.dog publishes an evidence-informed interpreter of canine body language, vocalisation and context, together with the reference material behind it. Everything runs in your browser and it is free to use.
- It does not translate barks into words, and no product can, for reasons set out at can barks be translated. The full statement of what this site can do, cannot do and will never do is the capability charter, and that charter governs.
- This is not veterinary or professional behavioural advice and it is not a diagnosis. It cannot examine your dog. Where an animal may be in pain, has bitten, or has changed behaviour suddenly, the site directs you to a veterinarian rather than answering. The activity of publishing it is not a regulated veterinary service and no veterinary authority supervises it.
- No contract for goods or services is concluded through this site. Nothing is sold here, there is no account, no checkout and no subscription.
- Eight practical-guide pages carry a marked partner link, from which the operator earns a commission. Which pages, and the boundaries that are never crossed, are disclosed in full on the privacy page.
Responsibility for content
The operator named above is responsible for the content of this site. Every behavioural claim is graded against a named source in the source register, where each entry states what the work actually establishes, how it is commonly overstated, and its limits. Where the site relies on professional convention rather than published evidence, it says so in place.

Disputes and applicable law
- The operator is established in the Republic of Lithuania, and this notice is provided under Lithuanian law implementing Directive 2000/31/EC on electronic commerce.
- Because no consumer contracts are concluded through this site, the European rules attaching to online sales and service contracts do not apply to your use of it.
- The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform was discontinued in July 2025 and is deliberately not linked here. A link to it would be dead, and traders were required to remove it.
- Use of this site is governed by the terms of use. Data protection, including who controls what and your right to complain to the Lithuanian supervisory authority, is set out on the privacy page.
